FIRE Auditor General at your own RISK, KENYAN VETERAN scribe WARNS president KENYATTA

BY JARED OPIYO

TOP notch Kenyan journalist Jaindi Kisero has warned Jubilee administration of eminent trouble should they sack Auditor General Edward Ouko, painted as the chief whistle-blower in the Eurobond saga.

A robust Kenyan Newspaper initially put it bravely, the office of Auditor General was in panic mode after it emerged that Jubilee honchos were pilling pressure on President Kenyatta to fire Ouko, a man they accused to be a Raila mole.

Kisero in a hard hitting article on his favorite column which appeared on Wednesday's Daily Nation Newspaper, observed that Mr. Ouko was in no position to change the Eurobond narrative to fit what Jubilee wants even if he's threatened with sack.

''If Mr. Ouko is being pressured on the Eurobond matter, then the powers that be are frying the wrong person,'' he fired.

In what is shaping up as a fierce succession strategy, sources were in chorus that the government is determined to have Ouko’s deputy John Kagondu, believed to be a close buddy of senior Jubilee leaders, take over as the next Auditor General.

Kisero, one of the longest serving journalists at Nation and a respected authority in business journalism noted ''the government shoots itself in the foot by claiming to be committed to fighting corruption while at the same time muzzle such offices as this one''.

He noted that the now troubled office occupies a pole position when it comes to the architecture of the critical institution that make up integrity system adding that what the government was doing amounts to rotten politics.

Kisero described Kenya as a country where grand corruption and political patronage are what lubricate politics.

Sources at Nation indicated that the management is at cross roads on whether to suspend Kisero column or not, just days after another top journalist at the Newspaper Denis Galava  suffered suspension after he penned a scathing copy against President Kenyatta.

Both Jaindi Kisero and Macharia Gaitho took early retirement from Daily Nation but successfully managed to  continue writing their columns.

Daily Nation has suspended one of its top editors for authoring a scathing editorial against the government on 2nd January 2016.

Mr Denis Galava (pictured above), who is the newspaper’s managing editor in charge of special projects, was sent home today, in what is being described in the industry as a harsh punishment for the journalist given that the piece went through other editors, including the Saturday Nation managing editor, before being published.

.
The full-length, 580-word, editorial criticised the Uhuru Kenyatta administration and touched on the issues of unemployment, economic stagnation, corruption and poor leadership.

“Mr President, unemployment, corruption, bureaucratic incompetence and economic paralysis are the bane of your regime,” it read in part.

“….Mr President, there comes a time when the rhetoric must stop and some work gets done…For close to three years, you have been declaring your tigritude on rooftops, it is now time to pounce. Not least because your legacy hinges on it, but it is the only decent thing to do.”

''The poor majority are watching the conspicuous consumption and gorging of the tiny that's doing the stealing while all others are made to wait for hand-outs'', he said.

The ODM leader said this is an experience which Jubilee administration could have avoided if it had the intention of serving its people and not of stealing from them for purposes of self-enrichment and of retaining political power through corruption, fraud ,theft and bribery.

DID GREEDY LIKONI MP RECEIVE FAKE CASH FROM STATE HOUSE

AS campaigns for 2017 general elections hots up statehouse has embarked into money politics, a rebirth of former President Moi style of leadership.

Generally both president Kenyatta and his deputy Ruto are Moi's long time political students who were introduced to money politics at the early stages of their political careers.

Today Likoni MP Mwalimu Mwahima  went to state house to pick money and unlike  other four MPs from the coast, he was so excited that he posed with the money tucked in a brown envelope outside state house gate where our snitches spotted him.

''I think he’s a class 4 drop-out! Why the hell do likoni pple like to vote for him???? The man’s a disgrace!! I bet he has not check the money to know if it’s fake or how much. He’s greedy n selfish, likoni pple don’t ever vote for such a joke come 2017'' posed a KENYA TODAY READER
